Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist will play a key role in providing technical support to our employees and properties across the country. Responsibilities include general IT tasks, computer imaging, troubleshooting, user provisioning, and creating automations to streamline workflows. This position also involves managing IT tickets, analyzing and proposing workflow improvements, and leading IT-related projects such as addressing internet outages, purchasing and setting up computers, and maintaining access control systems. The role may require up to 15% travel to properties nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

General IT Support:
  • Respond to employee IT support tickets and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.
  • Perform computer imaging, setup, and deployment for employees and properties.
  • Provide remote and onsite IT assistance to ensure optimal performance across locations.

Network Troubleshooting:
  • Diagnose and resolve network issues, minimizing downtime for properties.
  • Coordinate with service providers to address and resolve internet outages.

User Provisioning/Deprovisioning:
  • Manage user account setup and removal, ensuring compliance with security policies.
  • Maintain accurate user and system records for auditing and tracking purposes.

Process Improvement and Automation:
  • Develop automations to reduce administrative workload and improve efficiency.
  • Continuously assess IT workflows and propose actionable improvements.

Project Management:
  • Lead IT-related projects for properties, including computer purchasing, setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage access control systems, ensuring functionality and security.
  • Collaborate with teams to address property-specific IT challenges and rollouts.

Travel Support:
  • Travel to properties nationwide as needed (up to 15%) to provide on-site technical support, manage IT projects, or troubleshoot critical issues.

Strategic IT Initiatives:
  • Stay informed on emerging IT technologies and trends to enhance the company’s IT infrastructure.
  • Assist in the development and execution of long-term IT strategies.


Qualifications
  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 2+ years in an IT support or similar role, preferably within property management or student housing.

Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Windows and macOS operating systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and IT ticketing systems.
  • Knowledge of networking, including routers, switches, and troubleshooting internet connectivity.
  • Familiarity with automation tools like Power Automate or scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell).
  • Understanding of basic cybersecurity practices.

Soft Skills
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Effective time management with the ability to prioritize tasks and projects.
