Accounting Operations Specialist
Opportunity Overview
Assist the Corporate Accounting function with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and other accounting operations tasks, related to student housing real estate. The candidate will be expected to exhibit creative and flexible skills, working in a relatively small, yet growing environment.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Receive, review, and enter vendor invoices to Entrata software for further approvals.
- Review onsite invoice entries for data, coding, and timing accuracy.
- Manage check processing procedures.
- Process electronic funds transfers via banking/vendor online portals.
- Maintain vendor database for compliance with policies.
- Manage fraud prevention tools via various banking portals.
- Assist with resident ledger adjustments.
- Process security deposit refunds.
- Prepare annual 1099 filing.
- Assist Vice President with ad hoc accounting projects.
Qualifications
- Prior A/P experience preferred
- Prior experience within a Real Estate company preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel application
- Experience with Entrata, MRI, and/or Yardi accounting software preferred
- Prior experience filing 1099 forms preferred but not required
- Candidate needs to be coachable, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, display strong technical aptitude, and detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred (recent college graduates welcome to apply)
